Eric and Jason talk about how his training was beginning to get stale and he needed a big jolt to get rolling again. After listening to an M&M show I had recently done with Bill Crawford where Bill talked about lifting Stones every day Jason decided he was going to fully implement this into a new program.Eric and Jason talk about what size and weighted stones he was going to use to begin this program. He had two different shaped and weighted stones. One stone was 150lbs and the second stone was 170lbs. Jason started to lift the 150lb Stone every day no matter how his body recovered. He used singles to lift the Stone every day and practicing holds and walks with the stone too.We talk about some of the most important parts of Stone lifting for 31 days. The Mental Game. Can you get through it? Will your mind give out and will you succumb to the pressure? The answer in Jason’s case was NO! In fact here’s a guy who works 10 hour days in a mill and found that lifting stones made him just want to get better even with the long hours he conducted professionally.Changes-Some of the changes Jason went through from a metabolic standpoint of this training was much bigger and rugged forearms, much more developed upper back and visibly much bigger tendons in his wrists. We talk about the how great it is to lift a stone and the discipline it takes to do something like this. We talk about encouraging the younger children to get involved in healthy activities like this. Examples speak louder than words. Eric and Jason finish our podcast off with some great thoughts on why something so simple like a stone can have so many positive points to it. Like Jason said that the stones are waiting in the tall grass for you to lift while the heavier one he hasn’t been lifted yet just lies in waiting.
