Eric and Adrian start the show right off with the hows and the whys of building big powerful enduring legs. Adrian defines strong enduring legs as injury free, very pliable and supple and legs that can heave  big poundages. We talk about how many lifters put much more emphasis on their upper body rather then lower. When I was a gym member we’d call these guys chicken legs. We really get into the building essentials of big powerful legs. The legs include hamstring training, movements to create muscle mass around the knee caps, calf work and especially taking care of your feet. Two great endurance exercises to really make your legs respond are jumping rope and walking a long distance with a sand bag, Eric and Adrian talk about two of their favorite squat movements. One being the front squat which translates heavily to the clean and jerk and the stone carry. The second being the back squat which loads your spine with a heavy weight and of course strengthens the body from head to toe. We talk about the importance of the lower end of the body to be able to lift that stone up and go the required distance with it in any type of competition or training. We make reference to finger strength and how it could be the one factor which will stop you cold in your tracks for stone lifting triumphs. We talk about the visual appeal of a gym and how it will make you want to succeed so much more. especially when you have dreams of building more muscular bulk and strength. As Adrian explains to Eric we must fuel peoples desires to train hard, train big and establish a set of unbreakable standards.
