Eric and Charlie keep the hits rolling here on Motivation and Muscle! Have you listened to our last 10 Podcasts? The praise has been defining on how great they have been. Here is another fantastic Podcast Titled Back and Armor. We lead off with a discussion briefly on has stone lifting gotten much more popular or not? We both believe it has gained in popularity mainly in how more and more people of strength are making their best attempts at lifting the Dinnie Stones. It’s a very exciting thing to witness. As they say history at times will repeat itself!
Before we embark on building a strong back we talk about Charlie’s success in stone lifting in 2017 which was an epic adventure. The training, the sweat and the ability to be man enough to make the physical changes necessary to succeed in lifting every stone you shake hands with and battle against. Charlie tells us what that success feels like and how it has carried over to 2018.
When we talk about building a strong back the deadlift is obviously one of the main lifts to be a successful stone lifter. The trap bar is definitely a favorite along with the other forms lifted with an Olympic Bar. We also discuss farmer walks for stone power and obviously the lift that you can’t do without and that is some form of a Heavy Squat. We also bring in rep ranges and sets when working these weight training movements!
Eric and Charlie now talk about your mental landscape better known as your Armor Plated Mind. This is another success lesson to be learned. One thing we nailed hard is any type of big a lift has a finality to it. You either do it or you don’t. There’s something very noble about that. No excuses just go back to the drawing board and come back for the goal again! We talk about the scary stupid approach to lifting impossible objects. You are so full of confidence and you have such mental discipline that you can literally empty your mind and lift a large heavy object and get it. That is also referred to as pressing your will down on everything you lift and making it happen successfully.
