Bud Jeffries-Counterfeit Muscle-#512-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio Show Welcomes Bud Jeffries to the Broadcast. Bud is a Strength coach, author, motivational speaker, minister, business owner and one of only a handful of professional performing strongman on tour in the USA. Eric and Bud kick the show right off with the phony workouts we see everywhere now a days. Bud makes reference to an article he read based on how these Hollywood actors will train for four hours a day to play a role in all of the superhero movies as of late. The article talked about the food they needed to get ripped with and the preparation for all of this nonsense which the average trainee could care less about. Bud talks about his new product that’s coming out shortly. He’ll show you how in ten minutes per day you can get in the best shape of your life. You won’t need fancy foods or expensive equipment to be successful with this superhero program.  Are you as strong as you look is the age old question? At one time the lifting sports were much more connected. In John Grimek’s era many of the bodybuilding competitors were also olympic lifters or maybe they were odd object lifters who did that prior to their bodybuilding competition. Wrestler Karl Gotch was another great athlete who would make reference to counterfeit muscle also. He would say if you couldn’t last 60 seconds we him on the wrestling mat what good was all of your power. Eric and Bud talk about Eugene Sandow who was known as the father of bodybuilding and yet could do a bent press with 275 pounds. We talk about Arthur Saxon who was so strong and powerful and could do any type of manual labor let alone ride his bicycle for hours at a time. Both of these men proved their ability to use their strength right across the board. They were not specialists. We talk about food and lifting and how all of us at one time or another have been enslaved to it. When you start to worry about a missed meal ora sports drink and how your not sure if you should train today that’s when you need to put the breaks on and reevaluate yourself. Eric and Bud talk about two of the greatest inventions in weightlifting. One being the barbell and the other being the power rack.
