Captain Crunch Plus Weightlifting
Captain Crunch Plus Weightlifting-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes Eric Guttmann to the broadcast. Eric is a Naval Officer, Strongman, Writer, Trainer, and Speaker.Eric and Eric kick the show right off talking about the little 10-year-old would be young weightlifter asking himself and thinking out loud who and what he would like to talk to about all of his training questions. I used this idea many years later to create and launch the Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio Show. Who would ever think at that young of an age what an idea could create later down the road? This all goes back to the newness of everything and how exciting it is when you make your first protein drink or buy your first weightlifting magazine or train at your first gym. Well after much discussion with my father I had to really sell the idea of weightlifting and training to him. I was never told there’s no way I’m investing in that but I was reminded of the other things I needed and got but never stuck with them. So just out of the blue, my Aunt Gloria called my dad and they got talking. The next thing I knew we taking a road trip to Connecticut to pick up my sand weights and the wooden bench. Pay dirt!Eric G talks about what propelled him into his physical excellence at an early age. It was the inability to even do a single full pushup at around 12 years of age. Eric said this really upset him to the point where he couldn’t get any help so he did the best thing. He went after the goal alone. After two months working very hard and starting the pushup from the incline position from his dresser draw success came full circle. Once again strong desire and perseverance with practice stomp out the flame of weakness. Eric F and Eric G talk about Eric’s start with the sand weights in the basement, to the extremely rugged YMCA to eventually the Steel Pier Athletic Club. Every one of these gyms all had some serious magic to them all. It’s where I cut my teeth into the iron and kept going to where I am today. We talk about the absolute power of weightlifting and how having the ability to eventually conquer big goals you set is so euphoric and that this feeling will remain with you the rest of your life. Just think about every time you play back in your head that 500lb dead stop squat you just destroyed? What about the 700 kettle bells swings you completed with a 1-minute rest in between sets? There is not a better feeling in the world then conquering a major goal.Always put your best foot forward with your weightlifting. Whether you are a beginner or you’ve been around for a decade or two. Weightlifting is a living breathing life of its own accord. Did you not seek it out or did it seek you? Always weightlift with those young eyes and that young heart. Always remember why you started it in the first place. It truly is the love of my life! Enjoy it!
