Dinnie Training and Physical Work-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes Stone Lifter, Farmer, and Highland Games Competitor Charlie Blair Oliphant to the Broadcast.Eric and Charlie start our podcast right off with catching up on how his training is going for his lifting of the Dinnie Stones. Charlie tells Eric that he is in the third phase of his training and his meeting to lift the Dinnie’s will be July 29th of 2017. Eric and Charlie talk about how he’s been doing various weight workouts to enhance his musculature so he succeeds with the Dinnie Stones. With the added built strength he has achieved Charlie is now using the Dinnie Rings attached to loaded weighted pins to simulate the actual lifting of the stones. He has also left his equipment outside so he lifts the mock stones in no matter what the weather presents. This readies him for whatever he might meet up with when he lifts the actual Dinnie Stones.
Charlie made a great discovery about the Dinnie Rings quickly as he began to train with them. There is a big difference between the use of an Olympic bar and the Dinnie Rings on your hands. One thing which really masked the damage initially was using chalk for the lift. Once Charlie discovered he had really torn his hands up he took the time off for them to heal and then get back at it. As Charlie tells Eric all the super glue in the world couldn’t repair his hands. Eric and Charlie talk about how committed he is to succeed in lifting the Dinnie Stones and some of the movements he has done which have shored up the areas of his body which needed to be strengthened. Two of the movements which have done that are the Powerlifting Squat and Trap Bar Deadlifts. The basics still deliver the best.
