My Healthy and Strong Back-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes Scott Shetler to the broadcast. Scott is the owner of Extreme Performance Training Systems, trainer, writer and the host of Strength and Health TV.Eric and Scott lead the show right off with how important your back is in every strength endeavor you’ll ever be involved with. On a side note which is very important. I spoke with the great Dinnie Stone lifter Stevie Shanks and I asked him how do lift bigger and bigger stones. He came back with the answer quickly and without any hesitation. Build your back bigger! So what are the 2 main reasons for poor back health both Eric and Scott see? Firstly The majority of people don’t know how to train their lower back properly. Secondly, poor posture really lends itself to many back problems. One quick example is sitting in front of your computer for 7.5 hours per day. This on its very own can begin your path to poor back health and eventually back pain. Eric and Scott talk about Scott’s success with his clients who have come to him both before and after back surgery and flourished. Scott used the Westside Barbell Reverse Hyper to rehab his client’s backs to the point where they could eventually use other forms of weight lifting to help with the rebuilding process. Wait till you hear Scott’s story about another client who was scheduled for his second back surgery and canceled it because of his high rep training with the Reverse Hyper. The biggest caveat to this story is the gentleman while using the Reverse Hyper reduced his pain so much that he lowered his medication and eventually was able to give it up completely. Eric and Scott talk about not only about the Reverse Hyper for back health and how pumping up the back with high reps will flood the connective tissue, the ligaments and tendons with the much-needed blood supply to achieve this lower back health. We also talk about how using a kettlebell and a good morning among many exercises will build your back into a big hunk of granite unable to be broken. We talk about loaded carries and how beneficial they are for you from head to toe. Odd objects such as sandbags and stones plus farmer walk carries are not only beneficial for your heart but are also so important for your grip. Your grip will always be the deciding factor should you want to lift something very big off the ground. It’s a make or breaks as we say here at the FBC Stone and Steel Yard.We finish off the show with a number of very powerful exercises to implement into your lifting program for back health and strength. A few of the exercises we recommend for a very powerful back are dumbells rows, dumbells deadlifts, good mornings and the Jefferson lift to name a few.  These are exercises which create real rewards to further your lifting success.
