Eric and Gary start the show right off with it doesn’t really matter what you lifting or how heavy. What matters the most is your recovery from the damage you’ve inflicted on yourself. As Gary relates to Eric he has worked with athletes who lift cars, toss telephone poles and squat big numbers. The thing they all have in common is their recovery for their next training session. When they don’t recover fully from session to session it changes their body mechanics. This in turn will result in injury. As Gary tells Eric that most people don’t understand the recovery process. We don’t get stronger and bigger from our training. We get stronger and bigger from our recovery.  Eric and Gary talk about the 3 components you need to get back to the training at hand. They are hydrate, nourish and rest. Gary gives us the exact methods he uses to hydrate and follows it up with a book to give you some more information which will assist you. Number one is how many chin-ups will he do and number two is his long distance running. If his numbers stay the same or exceed previous workouts he knows that his body is being nourished correctly.Eric and Gary talk about recovery and how to do it. Back in the days of the past Gary would bring people into his gym the day after a hard workout and do a pumping session to bring on the needed rest and  recovery.
