Stevie talks about how his dad used to by him Marvel Comics as a kid because superheroes were something he always admired and read about. As Stevie tells Eric his dad is his real superhero. Stevie watched his dad train and do unheard of feats of strength. Stevie who is a drummer and has been a musician for over 30 years turned 50 years old and things suddenly changed.Eric and Stevie discuss why he decided to suddenly start to get in shape. He tried bodybuilding for a while but it just didn’t inspire him. So he entered a local deadlifting contest where he not only won the event he also set a record for his age group. After the big win, he spoke with his dad and Stevie felt that he wanted to follow in his father footsteps and go after the Dinnie Stones.Eric and Stevie talk about how lifting the Dinnie Stones became an obsession to him. As Stevie tells Eric that not only does he want to follow in his dad’s footsteps but when he sees what his dad accomplished it just amazes him. We talk about the stone culture and why is it so prevalent in Europe. One of the things that came up was the right of passage from being a boy and growing into a man. Essentially the stones were the testing ground for just that. We talk about how to lift the Dinnie Stones and what’s required to pull off this feat of strength. One of the best barbell exercises in the one arm deadlift. Eric asked Stevie what diameter handle he used for this lift. Stevie stays with the standard one-inch handle. We also talk about using a hook grip to lift the Dinnie’s. But the thing we feel is still the best way to lift the stones is to get into the actual position and practice that way. To do that you’ll have to get the actual measurements of the Dinnie rings and attach them to a set of loading pins and have at it. This will build the pathways and the proper form to succeed at this great feat of strength. We talk about the encouragement, having the tools to succeed, our family history and the ability to always put up a hard fight and to never walk away. No matter how many highs and lows, wins and losses we will always have the built-in ability to never walk away from our passion. We realize that all the things that have happened before us all have a hand in what we will eventually become. We really hit on the drive we all need to succeed and that brings us to Stevie giving us an update on his dad. One thing you’ll notice right away is when Stevie speaks about his dad is his love and devotion for him! Stevie tells us his dad is 81 years young. He’s had both hips replaced and had triple bypass heart surgery. He’s recovered fully and works out three times per week. He has a deep faith in GOD and he bestows his great strength and character on everyone he meets. Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Connects Your Brain To Your Brawn. Enjoy!
