Mike has a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, a BA in Natural Science, and an MS in Biomechanics. He is an adjunct professor and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. Mike has been featured in international magazines, in scientific publications, and on websites across the globe. These are the shows which bring new guests and new perspectives to Motivation and Muscle. We are honored to introduce Mike T Nelson and we start the show right off with the passage called Opinions from Coach John Wooden’s book. Eric and Mike both agree what strength this passage has for anyone who wants to make a permanent mark on themselves and the others around them. These ideas and thoughts must be practiced for success. We talk about the success of Motivation and Muscle through the thoughts of Coach Wooden and how through the show we are changing minds and hearts constantly. We talk about how Mike got started in weightlifting and always the WHY. Mike was very tall for his young age at 6 foot 3 inches but really need to put on some muscle and strength. His coach was the main force which made Mike create the drive within to achieve these goals. We really take an exclusive look at youth sports and why so many young athletes are burned out, injured or leave their sport completely. Sports in a sense has become so specialized in many areas. This eventually leads to many of the buzzwords we hear today with our younger athletes known as overuse, mental burnout and lack of enthusiasm. Most sports at one time were more well rounded leading to what I believe is a more durable athlete both mentally and physically.Eric and Mike talk about the basics. That would we be the Squat, Deadlift and either the Bench or Standing Press Overhead. One thing Mike said was he’s found the more archaic the work is the better the result. When I say archaic I mean more of a Manual Style of labor. The body was constructed to carry heavy loads, push things and pull things for starters. We have a program here at FBC called the Hard Hat Course. Wait till you see this. You will build strength, power, and stamina like never before. Mike backs our theory up with his own personal teachings. Eric and Mike talk about how he works with clients through a better word I would call the Psychology of the Mind. When you take on clients who have had little success through all aspects of physical culture you have to invent a new originality to your approach with clients who have heard it all before. You must be able to engage them in a way to get them motivated again towards health. Mike has a unique way of doing this just by asking some very basic question to get a fix for his client’s responses. We finish off our introduction show with Mike by talking about how rewarding it is to see a client succeed in whatever their health needs are. We also talk about how beneficial it can be to the trainer themselves. When a big fire has been created and all kinds of great things are transpiring around you how can you not reap the success yourself? We all have a golden opportunity to become better than we ever envisioned. Sometimes all we need to do is to have someone discover that in us. The rest is up to you! Write and live the future you want! Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Connects Your Brain To Your Brawn. Enjoy!
