Jason Gregory-Apollon Axle Deadlift-#479-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Podcast Show Welcomes Metal Musician, Personal Trainer, Stone Lifter and Steel Bender Jason Gregory to the Broadcast. Eric and Jason kick the show right off with Jason meeting a mutual friend of ours. Jason went and visited Will Dinwiddies gym Epic Fitness to get some tips on arm wrestling. Jason tells us it was the first time he’s ever visited a real hardcore gym and what a great guy Will is. Eric and Jason now move right into training the deadlift with the Apollon Axle. Jason tells us that he recently pulled successfully 213 pounds for a triple. His biggest goal he has set for the coming year is to do a double body weight deadlift with the Apollon Axle. He’s weighing a little over 160lbs so that would equate to a 325 pound pull with the axle. We talk about Adam T Glass and at a little over 200 pounds he could compete with grip athletes who weighed 300 pounds plus of body weight. We talk about how beneficial it is to use these thicker bars to build a gorilla  grip. Jason tells us he works long hours in a mill and has conditioned himself and his grip to be able to deadlift six days in a row with a three inch bar. It might not be maximum weight but the ability to put out that type of work is amazing. We talk about setting up the right atmosphere to lift these thick implements. Jason tells Eric that when you walk into his garage he has thick bar dumbbells all over the floor and the apollon axle and stones everywhere to. Who wouldn’t get excited coming into that atmosphere? We talk about the barbaric style of stone lifting. We both agree there’s nothing like lifting the different shapes of stones, how to turn them and set and holds and carries.
