Jedd gives us some background on the inch dumbbell. Thomas Inch was a European Strongman in the late 1800’s.
Inch would travel around with four different challenge dumbbells. The one that has gotten the most notoriety is the dumbbell weighing 172 pounds. The best description of this monster globe is its all one piece casting with close to a 2 and 1/2 inch handle with a globe on each end. This makes this dumbbell almost impossible to lift let alone trying to press it overhead.
We talk about why Jedd got into grip work to this point in his lifting.
One of the main factors was his love for strongman. But what really motivated him was seeing the inch dumbbell and wanting to lift it.
We talk about the best way to build wrist strength using isometrics at various angles.
