Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Podcast Show Welcomes Jedd Johnson to the Broadcast. Jedd Johnson is a Speaker, Performing Strongman and Three Time National Grip Strength Champion.

Eric and Jedd start the podcast right off with how to lift the inch dumbbell.

Jedd gives us some background on the inch dumbbell. Thomas Inch was a European Strongman in the late 1800’s.

Inch would travel around with four different challenge dumbbells. The one that has gotten the most notoriety is the dumbbell weighing 172 pounds. The best description of this monster globe is its all one piece casting with close to a 2 and 1/2 inch handle with a globe on each end. This makes this dumbbell almost impossible to lift let alone trying to press it overhead.

We talk about why Jedd got into grip work to this point in his lifting.

One of the main factors was his love for strongman. But what really motivated him was seeing the inch dumbbell and wanting to lift it.

We talk about the best way to build wrist strength using isometrics at various angles.

We also address thick bar training and the best way to match an implement to the exact movement we’re using it for.

We talk about Jedd’s new DVD called How To Lift The Inch Dumbbell. This product can be purchased through Jedd in hard copy and digital format.

If you’re really interested in the history of the Inch Dumbbell or how to eventually lift it then we have the solutions for you.

Enjoy bigger hands, wrists and bigger iron!
