With the summer weather fast approaching who doesn’t want to have a huge set of pipes or guns hanging off their shoulders?
Big arms are something everyone admires whether your in the iron game or not. Eric and John talk about how important it is to work the arms especially the bicep. This is a body part that is usually neglected and handles so much of the load especially during stone lifting.
Eric and Jon discuss bicep injuries and why they occur. These injuries occur when a stone is lifted incorrectly, weak ligaments and tendons and from not training the bicep at many angles to create a bullet proof arm.
Speaking of weak links with most strongman movements. It’s normally the bicep which is that link. We need to understand that you can have the strongest hip girdle, hamstrings, lower back and posterior chain but if the biceps are weak that stone is not coming off the ground. If you keep trying to pull that stone the bicep will tear.
Eric and Jon give you some different bicep exercises which as I mentioned above will train the bicep at every angle.
Jon tells Eric how he is using a muscle stimulator to drill down as deep as he can into the bicep for developing more strength and health in his biceps.
Eric tells Jon about his new pressing discovery which really hammers the tricep along with the other body parts that come into play.
Eric is floor pressing a loaded 55 gallon drums and pressing a 2″ 100lb dumbbell inside his power rack. Eric goes back and forth. Just think about the power and size your triceps and biceps will eventually have.
Jon describes a product he invented called the gym keg. This was a keg with 3 different handles and sized handles where once again the arms, especially the biceps, would be hit at various angles.
