Eric and Max start the podcast off with how to build a very strong lifting foundation through multiple disciplines.
Max believes that a good way to find out how great you can be is to learn how to do many forms of physical culture to see where your passion lies. This is very important because by building so many of styles of training this can only make you a better athlete when you settle on one specific discipline.
Eric and Max agree this should not limit you to getting involved in other sports which attract you. We also agree upon that once you’ve done all the ground work the universe of physical culture is yours.
One example Max and Eric talked about was what if you didn’t like to do pull ups for shoulder and upper back development what would you do?
When we want to foundationally build strong shoulders and the upper back the exercises could be dumbbell presses, power clean and press, shrugs or any type of heavy pulling movements.
The point of this whole show is that there is always something out there to work on so your body will feel like an oak tree rooted right into the ground. This is where foundations come from.
Another huge topic was Max’s new book called Simple Shoulder Solutions. How many of us have had shoulder problems past and present?
As Max tells Eric this course will take your shoulders from broken to unbreakable.
One interesting aspect in the 3’s is the 80 percent rule. We can’t always have a 100 percent training day with the weights but with the 80 percent rule even on a lighter day you’ll still leave a little in the gym. This will enable you to have those big days again and stay injury free. Longevity is yours with a little common sense training. Your gains in size and strength will increase once again.
