After much trial and tribulation, Jon has come up with a design of the Neuro-Grip Tool. This tool allows the strength athlete to really engage the push-up allowing the athlete to work the whole body as a unit while increasing neuromuscular efficiency. One of the most important features of the Neuro Grip is its engagement of the brain. The harder you squeeze something the more involvement you will have with your brain.Some of the other features of the Neuro-Grip which are so important are the stability factor. When you are going down into a push-up position not only is the grip being tested but your midsection is fully firing and engaged. Your full attention must be given or you will literally fall flat on your face. We talk about our vision of insanity under the bar to engage the mind in a slightly different way when we’re not using the Neuro-Grip. Wheater we are stomping our feet, taking multiple deep breaths before the actual execution of the lift, slapping body parts or pushing ourselves mentally so hard we can see the white light as its referred to. This style of training partnered with the Neuro-Grip only compliment one another!
Eric and Jon address some great ways to warm the entire body and especially the shoulder girdle to begin building that Big Chest! As we said the more angles you can train from the better. The thing to always remember is to train the Bench as heavy as possible within the Power Rack or have spotters around. That’s the meat and potatoes of the program but always add a few blood pumping movements that heal, stretch and build the body as a whole.Whenever your going after a big build of a body part your atmosphere is everything. The bars, benches, the power rack, even the chalk all has to mean something. Building muscular useful bulk is always something we all aspire to.
