Paul FirePower Gray-Introduction-#542
Paul FirePower Gray-Introduction-#542-Eric Fiorillo The Host of the Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes the owner and head trainer at Firepower Gym, triathlon competitor and semi pro cyclist and a accomplished Martial Artist with over 30 years training in various styles Paul Gray to the Broadcast. Eric and Paul kick the show right off with this question. Where did the name Firepower come from? The name has two different meanings. The first part of the story is from Paul’s kettlebell certification where he did a workout called firepower. The second part of the story comes from creating a very healthy body able to withstand anything. Paul calls it making the body bullet proof. Paul believes and instills in everyone no matter what implement you use you must build your health first and foremost. Eric and Paul talk about the solutions this style of training affords the student from conquering joint pain to living and working in a sedentary job and all that’s in between. We briefly talk about how the world has become so lazy and as Paul tells us he’s seen people do one pushup and say they are in pain. The next thing we hit upon is who inspired you to get into physical culture. Paul tells Eric that the Human Torch and Captain America were his two biggest influences. Paul was very sickly as a young boy and he has beaten the odds of what the doctors had told him he could expect in later life. This is why his passion for health is so fierce when you hear our verbal exchange. Eric and Paul talk about his journey through physical culture which started with boxing, martial arts, cycling and then the kettlebell. After researching who he wanted to model this type of training off of he discovered Coach Anthony Diluglio. Through Coach Dilugio he learned and applied the knowledge and skills he gained from this system of Kettlebells, vintage lifting, rope training and suspension training every day at the Firepower Gym. We talk about the word failure and how so many people won’t even try if it means they could fail. As Paul states he’s failed all of his life and that we as humans have to fail to succeed and better ourselves. We talk about the ego and how so many people make one halfhearted attempt and walk out the door never to be seen again. We also talk about working out and starting off doing the structure first followed by doing the actual exercises movements. As Paul explained structure work is nothing more then working the kinks out of the body. Listen to one of the most inspiring stories on an underdog who has defied and beaten the odds.
