Eric is a personal trainer specializing in building strength and size in all athletes, the art of weight loss, and teaching trainees how to program their minds for a successful future. Today I’m flying solo and it was a lot of fun to just talk with my family for a change of pace. Personal strengths I believe is something we all have and need to develop to accomplish whatever we deem important in our life. I wrote a blog article yesterday which falls right into today’s podcast. The name of the article was called Cold, Wind Iron, and Stones which can be read and found at fiorillobarbellco.com.The main thrust of the story was to always take on whatever it is in front of you whether it’s your training or personal and professional life. Will stick with weight training for right now. I was scheduled to train Wednesday morning. It was ten degrees here in Albany NY and I couldn’t wait to take it all in and on. I love the cold and couldn’t wait to see what life had in store for me and my lifting.I had some light heat going on in the garage just so the bars wouldn’t stick to my sweaty skin. Other than that it was only around 50 degrees in the garage so the air was still mighty crisp. With me constantly opening the garage door the heater was going on and off a lot. My workout ranged from the Jefferson Lift, Husasteel Sone Power Rack Lift, York Iron Boots Isometric Holds, Supersets of Tire Flips and Stone Finger Holds just to name a few.The point of this whole exercise is to see how much I can withstand to survive another day. I love the cold and seem to thrive in that type of atmosphere. I enjoy the frigid cold and snow more than any other season in the year. It just keeps building more and more mental fortitude in me and makes me a much better and stronger lifter. I’ll leave our family with these important words. Never sell yourself short, improve your personal strengths, take on the cold and always and I mean always improve. I always say small steps lead to big goals.
