Today I lay the Steel and the Stone right into the Ground with another inspiring podcast Titled Plans! The word Plan is often overlooked and hardly executed properly. In today’s podcast, I use our example of the man maker exercise called the Deadlift. You can use any of the many variations of it but we concentrate here at the FBC Stone and Steel Yard on the Trap Bar Deadlift because after a bicep tear I feel using a supinated grip has much less chance of a recurring injury.
When we make Plans the first of many things we have to establish within ourselves are Goals. What is it we want to achieve and why! The second thing we have to establish is a time frame for our Deadlift Goal. The next thing we have to establish is our protocol for the Deadlift. The number of days in between sessions and the amount of recovery is going to be big factors in our progress.
The next thing we have to concentrate upon is what are going to be the main exercises we will do and what are the supplemental exercises which will support our Deadlift goals? Then once we have our base exercises what type of repetitions will we use when we train these movements. Now one of the most important questions to ask and build upon is what basic movements will we be doing and how much do we need to back off upon when we are making our Deadlift the focal point? This is something that will take some trial and error initially. If you use your head and don’t get overzealous in your quest towards your Deadlift goals you’ll prosper in every other lift also. Plan accordingly and grow with newfound strength and power!
Plans are so much fun to set and then execute into a worthy goal! The work and the ability to adapt constantly is the mark of a Winner and Champion! Get out there and take a chance on yourself and believe so deeply about yourself that you are unshakeable to any and all adversity in or around you! Learn to Plan, Persist, and be a Positive force and watch your whole world change! It’s really up to you! Make the Plan!
