Eric and Scott lead the show right off with the word programming in our given strength sport. Programming to most individuals requires a training routine to give you what you think you may need at that time. Most trainees want to start making strength and physical gains as soon as possible. Most of the time you will have initial success with a training program but what happens when you suddenly hit a brick wall.The normal response would be to try another training program and start the process of getting bigger and stronger moving everything forward again. Eric and Scott feel this is not the way to have success in your lifting goals. What you should do is really evaluate yourself. When you do this you can be honest enough with yourself to find your weaknesses and to correct them as quickly as possible. When you start to understand truly that training is much more than just showing up at the gym then you’re on to something. The best program in the world will not reward you if you can’t get to the gym on time and train, eat food for recovery and gains and get to bed at the same time every night. This is a system where you will succeed and become much more proficient in your weight training. Eric and Scott talk about the exchange of ideas here on M&M and we get very specific with why we do this. The big four will build the greatest foundation ever and will work the smaller muscles indirectly. The question we should always ask is what will it take to work the smaller muscle directly so we eliminate the possibility of injury. Eric and Scott talk about one of the movements Super stone lifter Martin Jancsics told Eric to work on because he feels from experience that it makes you excel at stone lifting. Martins inspiration towards that lift made Eric take it one step further. Now we have two lifts that will directly make you a better stone lifter.We talk about the common sense approach of using what you have on hand to get yourself from Point A to Point B. The training ideas now with a lot of people is to buy every gadget out there and join the latest and greatest trends. Trends come and go but true lifters are here for the full duration.
