The reasons for everything we do should always be constantly reexamined to reinforce our beliefs and to make changes if necessary. So the first question every weightlifter should ask themselves is am I in it for the long haul? This could mean anything from a week to multiple decades or as I say a lifetime. The second question we should ask ourselves is what about our short and long range goals. If we have some big goals in mind that were working on what are the steps in and out of the gym we must take to achieve them.Eric and Mike talk about the accomplishments of our fellow lifters and how they inspire us to grow and get better. We make reference to Mike leaving the Dinnie Stones to lift for a brief period to strengthen other areas of his body which were lagging behind and slowing his progress down. The Reasons Why We Lift even gets better here. We talk about speed and endurance with stones coupled with sandbags. Lifting a huge stone starting it off the ground or in a partial pull, lifting it with all your might and then setting it down. After the heavy stone have been successfully lifted we will now begin lifting our lighter sandbags for speed and making that new permanent connection to our Central Nervous System.  This is referred to as Repetition! Eric and Mike talk about a sequence of lifts he has been using to train on which will make anyone a very powerful stone and sandbag lifter. We talk about the sheer excitement of seeing and learning something new. The ability to take something as basic as a sandbag and turn it into the biggest gaining movement you’ve ever worked on in your entire lifting life. When you truly believe in yourself and are not afraid to chase down a big dream some super things will transpire in your life.  This is really the essence of lifting period. Think differently, achieve goals with laser-lion precision and always be open to things that might have lost favor in the training world today. Chances are they require lots of hard work.We conclude today’s podcast on the reasons why we lift with a few great thoughts. The first one will always be your ability to create what you want to do with your training for the rest of your life. Our strength will always have a positive optimistic effect on the world and on others who look to us for support. It’s so very important. The second is your longevity in the iron game. It’s the ability to stay the course no matter what comes before us. This is a never ending saga we live and the art of a winner is to never give in or surrender your values. Always stay connected to the reasons why you do anything and I guarantee you that you will always come out the better in the end!
