Rik Brown-Maces and Unconventional Training-#284-Unconventional Trainer and Mace Expert Rik Brown is my guest today on the Motivation and Muscle Podcast Show with Host Eric Fiorillo. Eric and Rik discuss his evolution into the Mace and why. After selling all of his weight equipment Rik moved into kettle bells, clubs and eventually the Mace.  The mace was a natural and he was a natural with it. Rik talks about his bodybuilding days in Southern California and the athletes he met. One time as a young man he snapped a picture of an unknown bodybuilder at Venice Beach who had star quality written all over him. It was none other then Arnold Schwarzenegger. Rik talks about training at  Bill Pearls gym and how he was such a gentleman. At 52 years of age Pearl still had power strength and size. Rik witnessed Bill Pearl with no warm-up just miss locking out a 300 pound overhead press.  We talk about the training of yesteryear and how the simplicity made so much sense. Rik said as the 1980’a approached the gyms became much more feminized and the lifters were more concerned about the mirror then lifting iron. This was the turning point for Rik to move over to the strength side of sports. Rik gives us a full snapshot of where he started, his discovery of real manly strength and how he has captured the world of Maces.
