Stephen has a long history of track and field in his long strength resume so we are going to let the teacher teach all of us students in the M&M Family.
Eric and Stephen are going to talk about what sprinting really is. As Stephen emphasizes it is not running fast. Eric and Stephen use myself as the example. How would a 300lb Strongman apply this type of training to stone lifting and pinpointing the effect it will have on my central nervous system.
Stephen defines what sprinting is and the neurological requirements needed to be successful.
One thing Stephen emphasizes is to do your sprinting first. The body remembers and stores this information which in turn dictates how good you’ll really get.
Eric and Stephen talk about establishing what yours goals are, warming up dynamically and reading your body in a way to be able to run ballistically right out of the gate thus engaging your central nervous fully along with your body.
We talk about the benefits of training outdoors and as things get heavier or more stressful our brains engage with us much more thus creating much more aggression to go after whatever were engaging in at that time.
As I’ve made comment to many of my friends on and off the podcast show that sometimes I feel like someone is pouring acid on my brain which in turn makes me react with fury on whatever I’m training with. Stephen calls it adrenaline.
