Stone Building Part 1-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes Husband, Father, VP of Slaters Hardware, Stone Molds Manufacturer, Strongman Logs Manufacturer and Strongman Steve Slater to the Broadcast.

Eric and Steve jump right into a very popular subject here at Motivation and Muscle called Stone Lifting. In today’s show were going one step further. Today’s show is called Stone Building Part 1. Eric and Steve begin teaching you how to construct an Atlas Stone. If you listened to our first show Steve gives you the history behind his stone lifting and the how and why he designed and began manufacturing these stone molds.Steve goes over the history again with Eric on how these molds came about and why they have been so successful in all facets of stone strength training. When you’ve decided to create an Atlas Stone you’re going to need to decide how big of a stone you want to build. This was the main reason why Steve came up with this great idea. The majority of lifters are not going to initially pull off the ground, lap it and stand straight up with a 300lb stone. So with  Steve building smaller molds out of his own necessity, anyone can now build an Atlas Stone at a much lighter weight and circumference and get started. Eric and Steve talk about how to mix the cement to build the Atlas Stone. Steve and I have both mixed the cement in a wheel barrel and a cement mixer. I prefer the cement mixer mainly because it’s so easy to aim the cement right into the open hole of the mold. Either method works great. Quikrete is the cement of choice when you’re building an Atlas Stone. It is by far the best and most efficient way to build a strong durable stone.Eric and Steve also touch upon how to strengthen the stone from the inside, how to join the mold together so we can pour our cement into it and what to rest our mold on so it will dry properly. We talk about what to use on the inside of the mold so it will come off cleanly once the stone is dry. Part one of this podcast will start you on your way to becoming a stone builder. I can tell you from experience it’s a lot of fun. It’s laborious, strength building and a new challenge to build something new in your strength training which will make you great! Hail to the Stone!
