Martin lays out some of the information on the web pages which will key on the famous stones of Iceland and Scotland. He also has the information on where you can stay if you decide to go on a stone tour in one or both of theses countries. Another great thing he has done is included pictures and the weights of these famous stones. Martin tells Eric how devoted he is to helping people succeed with stones and their lives.Eric and Martin now move into the Inver Stone. The Inver Stone was the first stone Martin lifted and he has since lifted it six times making it his favorite. Eric and Martin talk about the history of the Inver Stone. the tea and biscuits and some of the strength athletes who have signed the book before actually lifting it. Eric and Martin talk about his recent trip to New Hampshire to meet Stone Lifter Bill Crawford and David Webster to promote the documentary Stoneland. Eric and Martin talk about where Donald Dinnie got his namesake after. David Webster tells the story of how this laborer named Donald McDonald needed a job. Robert Dinnie Donald Dinnie’s father was in charge of putting up this wall with two other laborers. Donald McDonald stopped at the work site and asked Robert for a job. With that in mind, Robert told Donald if he could lift this stone meaning the Inver Stone he would hire him. Robert was the only one who could lift this stone at this time. To make a long story short Donald McDonald lifted the Inver with ease. Robert exclaimed to Donald that if he ever had a son he would name him Donald. So that is some new history on Donald Dinnie!
We finish this great podcast off with Martin talking about how glad he was to be back in America. Martin describes his week of lifting stones at Bill’s house in New Hampshire, the screening of Stoneland at the art’s theater, David, Bill and Martin on stage after the screening answering questions and David Webster’s magnificent stories.
