Eric Fiorillo Host of Train and Gain and The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Podcast Show Welcomes His Co-Host Erin Mackin to the show. Erin is a marine, nutritional coach, owner of Paleo Effects, Strength Trainer and Exercise Coach.
Eric and Erin start the show off on the importance of taking time off from your training.
This is a subject which a lot of trainees have mixed feelings about. Some trainees will tell you to deload for a week or maybe you should drop a heavy exercise or two and this will get you back to your old form.
Erin and Eric have tried this method multiple times and it doesn’t work. The only way to thoroughly rest the body, heal your injuries and mentally regroup is to take the time needed out of the gym. If you want to become razor sharp once again rest will reward you.
One thing Eric and Erin talked about was the ability to make any needed changes to your program and set a few new goals to look forward to in the near future with time off. Just doing a few things like this will have you so ready to dive back into the iron with lots of vigor and aggression.
Envision this. New records will be set, your mind will be generating big horsepower again, and your recovery will be through the stratosphere. When you rest everything comes in line and you enjoy your passion fully once again.
