We start right off where Jeremy states how he reached out to me about being a guest on Motivation and Muscle. He also tells Eric that M&M is Therapy for the Mind and Soul. Eric and Jeremy talk about his start with the old school cement weight set and the influence Arnold Schwarzenegger had into his initial start of training. This is where the real story begins, the triumph and how the Iron can change your life forever! Jeremy was an alcoholic for fifteen years and he was always in and out of trouble. Jeremy who has been sober now for six years explains to Eric that one Sunday morning he decided to Squat. Normally on a weekend, he was feeling pretty bad from a night before of drinking heavily. For whatever reason, the Sunday Squat then evolved into starting to a Deadlift which Jeremy never tried before. Suddenly he felt like getting into these hard lifts were making the difference in his life.We talk about longevity in weightlifting and we make reference to Bill Hinbern, Frank DiMeo, Stephen Santangelo, Carmen Caputo to name a few and how their contributions to all of us keep going. We talk about the discovery of how training alone will make you the best you could ever be. Taking your training on by yourself is the best way to become a true dynamo in weightlifting! Eric and Jeremy talk about Strongman training and how he will substitute different lifts in and out of his program. One note of interest is that he incorporated dips into his program and watched his bench press soar in weight. We talk about some of the changes Jeremy had to make in his life to become sober once and for all. One of the most important things he did was getting away from his childhood friend’s to begin his new life. He also had many fears of being alone and having to face sobriety head on. Jeremy also talks about how he had very little confidence at the time all of these life changes were transpiring. The best thing about any happy ending is to see everything come full circle. Jeremy made his mind up to be whole again. He started living life the way it was always intended. He started to think back to the little things which mattered. He no longer took life for granted and triumphed in a way that few do. Jeremy realized he had much more to contribute to the world and himself.  Now he not only does all of the physical things he loves to do but now he can speak freely of his Triumph’s with alcohol and let others know you can do it too!
