Whole Foods and Winter Training
Whole Foods and Winter Training-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes Stephen Santangelo to the broadcast. Stephen is a Strength Athlete, Organic Farmer and Strongman who still competes in the long standing tradition of old-time weightlifting. Eric and Stephen start the podcast right off with why whole foods. Stephen produces the best whole foods on the planet. Stephen sells them through his company with products such as: The Greens Formula, Fall and Winter Formula and Miracle Minerals for starters. Eric and Stephen speak to what whole foods you would need for where you live and for what type of winter weather you’ll be facing. We open our discussion with nutrition, warming up, adaptation and clothes layering in the harsh winter cold. Always have a deep understanding of the three layers of clothing you must wear so you can metabolically withstand the harsh elements you will be facing. The next thing we discuss is the ever important warmup and adaptation to the cold and winter training. Stephen and Eric do believe its wise to do fifty percent of your warmup in doors and the other fifty percent outdoors before you get into the actual workout. This now leads us into adapting to all of the new elements being thrown at us.Eric and Stephen can’t emphasize the importance of warming up to adapt. Sometimes the warmup will be longer then the actual training itself. This limits the possibilities of injury, frostbite and the ability for the mind to push you through the tasks at hand.We talk about the ability to fight through anything and everything when we place ourselves in these rugged weather situations. This is not the ego talking. It’s the innate drive in all of us to succeed. We laugh in the face of failure and know we will be back another day over and over to whip its a$$ at some point. We talk about sustaining ourselves and how Men are in a state of very poor hormone levels. There are young men in their mid twenties facing all types of body irregularities due to plastics, high estrogens, GMOS and soy to name a few. This is why we stress from the beginning that to become an outdoor training stud you’ll need to only consume whole foods. Find out who in your area has the food sources you’ll need to sustain your winter training and enjoy the test of Old Man Winter.
