You’re Never too Old-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes Writer and Athlete with nearly forty years in the sports medicine field, trainer of professional athletes, pioneer of strength-building for women during pregnancy and developed rehabilitation programs for injured workers Gary Reinl to the Broadcast. Eric and Gary go full throttle into Coach Wooden’s passage on Opinions. One thing we both fully agree upon about Coach Wooden was he was a shaper and maker of men and also a great model for programming to follow. We follow that up with Gary being the pioneer in the 1980’s on why women should weight lift when they are pregnant. As Gary stresses to Eric wouldn’t it make much more sense to be stronger then weaker when you are with child? We talk about longevity and the health factors which contribute to it in a positive or negative way. The age old question is alway asked well I did everything right how come this happened to me? The answer to a lot of these questions is there is no answer. There are lifestyle changes and a host of proofs we can live by but life is never 100 percent guaranteed. Eric and Gary talk about his training program of high intensity for our senior citizens. Gary states right from the start that he took all of the data out there at the time condensed it and took it to the physical therapy world. Gary then wrote a program specifically for the elderly, sold it to a large corporation who in turn hired Gary to run it all over the United States.Eric and Gary talk about an article in JAMA in 1994 that specifically stated that high-intensity heavy weight training for our elderly especially in nursing homes and in other facilities was proven to increase mobility, strength, build muscle and body power. Some of our elderly tested were as old as 96 years young and still made solid body strength gains. We really get into how important weight progression is to the patient and the number of reps associated with that to eventually making that patient fully functional again. Gary gives a great example of a patient who was wheelchair bound because his legs were too weak for him to stand up. We trace the exact steps Gary used to change the outcome of this individual so he could once again use his legs again and walk. One of the greatest things which came from our conversation on the elderly and strength training besides Gary having such a high success rate with these seniors was that they started wanting to create goals and reaching them. That right there will change anyone’s outlook on their life. Feeling useful at any age will always make you want to stick around here much longer.  Eric and Gary end our show with not only do you need gallons of optimism, goals, and self-confidence in yourself but you must fully believe in who is conveying the message to that group of people. Gary brings that totally to all of our seniors. He took people that could barely move let alone walk and changed them forever. As Gary told Eric he will not stop until all of the goals that have been set will be met. Life is nothing but pure gold when the Gary’s of the world are out there looking out for one another. You’re never to old to get and become strong again. Lift some iron and lift your life up! Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio Connects Your Brain To Your Brawn. Enjoy!
