Before we begin our podcast show on you’re grip Eric and Adam always address something out there in the physical exercise world that has our attention. On today’s show its the subject of how everyone is caught up in losing a few pounds after the Holidays namely Christmas and New Year’s.  We talk about the how’s and the why’s. We offer solutions for it all and move right into building the mighty grip. Adam is no Johnny come lately to grip work. The adjective I would describe when I think of Adam is BRUTAL! Eric and Adam get into hand strength, thumb strength, crushing strength, wrist strength and our favorite tools of steel namely the 2″Apollon Axle and The 3″ Boa bar. We talk about simple implements to get your grip started such as softballs, bricks and how to construct a 2″ or 3″ Thick Bar. Eric and Adam talk about his 565lb Deadlift on a 3″ Boa Thick Bar. Hands with everything in unison will give you this strong scary strength that most strength athletes have never encountered. The big carryover from grip work or compound movements using the thick bars are is deeper, thicker muscle fiber, thick cable like ligaments and tendons and a mental focus second to none. So hop on board with the hand steel express. I forgot to mention the effect this training will have on you’re stone lifting. Become all you can be. We will make it happen. We start out our discussion about being overweight and the misconception that its in my genes. Adam and I totally disagree with that notion especially when you have parents who need to lose a few  pounds and are bringing in their fifteen year old son or daughter who is already prediabetic to lose weight. You must lead by example and know that there are no quick easy fixes for this dilemma. Then we talk about the lack of grit in our youth and how manual labor is so important  to establish a work ethic and instill it in oneself.  We talk about about the common injuries people encounter. They happen with the wrists, having tight hips and spine skeletal issues to name a few. Getting in shape will remedy a lot of the above injuries and counter the negative attitudes your holding inside. Life style changes need to be addressed to repair injuries and rebuild the body.The days of hitting the snooze bar three or four times are over. Adam and Eric on this episode are pure blunt force trauma. Lot’s of great examples and logic on how to get your life back on course through injury rehab or just the thought of creating the new you! When he and I get talking on a subject the aggression and intensity for what we do and love can get very loud. We talk about what do we do when the bottom has fallen out from our training or personal lives. We get into the barrel full of excuses were constantly bombarded with and why does it only happens to me. We dispell all of that with some very spot on discussion. We address why you should set high standards for yourself and stick to them no matter what transpires in your life. We talk about how nobody owes you nothing in this world.
