Eric and Frank talk about the various ways we train with sandbags and how beneficial they are for strength, endurance and overall body power. This is one of the most inexpensive ways to build a world class body. They can be used for a short period of time for a change in you’re training or they can be plugged in one day per week with you’re barbell work. The farmers walk is something Frank has been using alongside the sandbag work. We can use a handle in each hand for distance, time or assorted loads we want to carry. Franks like the one handed farmers walk. This will build great balance and a very strong mid section. What is better then carrying a large object to get big and strong? Let’s not forget the mind development  connection you get with the hands when they have to grab or squeeze a heavy object and get control of it. Take a big risk and reap the big rewards! But before we talk about the article Bryan tells our family who got him motivated to train with odd objects. He is non other then Strongman Hank Baker. When Bryan saw Hank pulling an anchor through the sand he was hooked. As Bryan said “I found out what I wanted to do.”  Bryan contacted Hank who responded and a friendship forged in steel began. Roll things forward a few years and Hank contacted Bryan about an opening in the magazine for an article that month for  which he asked Bryan if he’d be interested in doing.  Bryan decided he was interested in doing the interview. For Bryan’s part he needed to submit a bio and training footage which he proceeded to do and send to Hank. The next step was for the magazine to tie it altogether and publish Bryan’s article. Eric and Bryan discuss outdoor training and how much they enjoy it. Eric and Bryan talk about what they wear when there outside in the colder weather and why you must protect you’re skin no matter what. We discuss how far Bryan has come in the last two years and now he’s doing magazine interviews. It just goes to show you’re dreams are possible. Bryan exemplifies the spirit and the tenacity to do the things that need to be done with passion and love mixed right in for good weights and measure. These exercises are also the keys to getting you as strong and as aggressive as a grizzly bear. We all know the Squat, Deadlift and Overhead Press will not only make you super strong and super rugged but did you know how mentally strong theses mega man exercises will make you? This can all be done by using the simple method of time. Calculate the number of sets and reps for any given exercise above and set a time limit of 40 minutes after a muscle warm up.  Do you want to make your testosterone and growth hormone soar? Learn to pay attention to the time. Even if your not finished with everything end the workout for that day.. Your strength and size will generate rapidly due to not being in an over trained state. Of course sleep is the generator for growth hormone. So always be very mindful of that. We also give out some more ball busting exercises such as stone lifting, sand bag lifting, overloading in the power rack, tire flipping etc. Now that you’ve become a testosterone giant Logan and I will give you the two Super Man Herbs  he recommends to increase more testosterone and to decrease the man killer called estrogen. Train and Gain-My Five Favorite Sand Bag Exercises, Eggnog Smoothie and a High Protein Mocha Drink-Eric Fiorillo Host of Train and Gain and The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Podcast Show Welcomes His Co-Host Erin Mackin to the show. Erin is a marine, nutritional coach, owner of Paleo Effects, Strength Trainer and Exercise Coach. Eric and Erin discuss Eric’s five favorite sand bag exercises he’s presently doing. Eric also gives you another one he’s still working on which delivers large. My five favorites are step-ups, bear hug and walk, clean to the shoulder, grounded bench press and the bent row. All of these movements deliver mountains of muscle and strength. The best thing about sandbags is their low cost to get started. When were training with them we make up all sized weighted bags. This way you can stagger the bag size depending on the distance you would like to travel with them. I also discuss the rep range to use. I usually stay between five and one. I’ll also tell you where to get the bags and liners and other proven suggestions to get you well on your way to a new more stronger and confident you. The greatest thing to come out of sand bag lifting is it usually bleeds right into stone lifting. Just listen to my last podcast with Dr. Geoffrey Smith. He is attacking stones like nothing he’s ever gone after before. Sand bags will not only make you more aggressive but because of the gripping and the constant positioning of the sand bag it ignites your brain in a way few lifting movements do.  Erin once again comes up with another award winning smoothie. Who out there in Motivation and Muscle Land doesn’t like to press overhead? There are so many ways to do this. Eric and Roger talk about this man making exercise and like the dip, bent row, Hise shrug and the pullover they have been cast aside for other exercises which don’t require as much hard work. We talk about the positive effects the overhead press has on your muscular structure from head to toe.  When you add the clean in with the press you’ll build slabs of usable muscle able to clean and press whatever you set your sights upon. We also talk about the visual look of a heavy overhead presser. Take a look at their spinal erectors. Their spinal erectors are thick and deep and have the look of power. For anyone who is a fan of the great John Grimek Roger has uncovered a picture of Grimek doing an extreme “Lay back” style press from the early 1930s.  Grimek is pressing a huge globe barbell showing that to become great at pressing or in life you’ll do the things others won’t do to become great!
