We talk about how poor form compounded with a poor trainer is a recipe for a major injury or permanent failure. When you speak to someone in a negative or positive way there is always going to be something remembered by the other person your verbally engaging with. With Hit and Runs we only go after the positive aspects of creating a good productive life. Look into that persons eyes your mentoring or when your giving somebody a little hope who is down on their luck. Watch their mannerisms and see their reaction to what you have said to them. I guarantee it will be met with a big smile. Just think we all have the ability to change the present and the future in others just by the words we say. How many times has someone that you respect or admired said a few kind words or instructed you to make a few changes and in a split second your whole outlook did a 360 degree turn for the better. The best thing to remember is even if you never meet that person again your kind words could very well produce someone who does great things in the future. Eric and David hit upon a very important point that we both experience quite a bit. Just because its not in a physical sense right now doesn’t mean its not happening around you. Be willing to take that leap of faith and know that your dreams are working ever so hard to reach you. Remember everything you do will come back to you in one shape or form. Learn to be a lightning rod to influence, teach and inspire. These are the traits of a leader. What you do now and always with yourself and the others you meet will truly echo through eternity! Adam T Glass-Static Lifting-#533-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio Welcomes Grip Master, Strongman and Trainer of Champions Adam T Glass to the Broadcast. Eric and Adam begin the show with making a decision on how to add on muscular body weight. Adam rewinds his life back a few years and tells us that due to a busy work schedule and other commitments outside of the gym his training was taking a back seat to everything else. The question Adam needed to answer was how could he get into the gym and make the most of 30 to 40 minutes of heavy productive training? The book Static Contraction Training changed everything for Adam at that point.  Adam tells Eric within six months of implementing this training program  he gained more muscular size then at  anytime in all of his years of lifting. This was accomplished through training with the biggest weights you could handle at the time. We all know the bigger the load the body can withstand the bigger the strength and size gains we make. I also want to stress the need for a power rack when you’re involved in this type of training. You need to be safe at all times when embarking on this type of training. Adam tells Eric one of the best positions to gain maximum size and strength is at the lockout positions. Adam would normally lockout and hold the bar for 5 to 10 seconds. The next step in this program is your recovery time. Adam tells Eric you would normally take 3 to 5 days off for full rest and recovery to be ready for the next session. Adam stresses that to become very proficient with this program you’ll only need 1 to 3 sets of static lifting in your lifts for that given day. We talk about the show Eric did with Jon Bruney recently called top down. We are taking a goal weight for a particular exercise and building the strength and size to eventually complete it from the parallel position(example with the squat). Eric and Adam can’t stress enough the indestructible body you will create with this type of training. The excitement of handing bigger and bigger weights and thickening the body everywhere will create a world class lifter. The time is now for hitting static holds with urgency and high expectations. Eric and Andrew light the fuse for another high octane podcast focusing on Grip! Andrew Pantke owner of Fat Bastard Barbell Co and Andrew Durniat wanted to host a grip event that was not the typical one that most competitors are familiar with.  The four events were based off the four top grip masters in the world. The first event was Andrew’s Axle 2-3/8”, the second event was the Glass Bar 2.5” Pinch Barbell, the third event was the Cast Anvil Trainer and the fourth event was the 4” Climber Pinch . Andrew tells Eric that not only did they have some of the top grip specialists from the USA for this event but they had competitors from as far as Finland. We talk about how amazing it is to make the connection with so many great athletes around the world and then finally one day were all in the same place going after the same thing. Eric and Andrew talk about the athlete who has never done grip work but after listening to our show wants to know how to get started.  One of the easiest ways to get started is by gripping different sized olympic plates or standard one inch plates. Another great way to develop your grip is to load a dumbbell and pinch grip it off the ground by the loaded plates. Pickup some heavy sandbags or stones and watch your grip explode. We talk about piling up stones for a specific distance and the hand power you’ll need to build to carry this strength feat out. We talk about the contest grip events that had taken place  on that day and how each competitor had a chance to make something big happen for themselves and also give everyone something to shoot for in two years. Eric and Andrew talk about lifting stones and we both agree that the fingers are the link to a good lift or an unsuccessful one. If you love grip work and are interested in competing down the road then this show has every component you need to get started. Eric and Clint start the podcast right off with The Ability To Finish .Why is it in the world of strength do we hear so many athletes say I ran out of gas or I just didn’t have enough to finish? Cliff tells Eric the reasons why we don’t finish is always mental, physical or technical.  Do you have the mental ability to withstand everything in your way and still succeed? Have you built the physicality to dish out as much punishment back that has been dealt to you on any given day? Technical ability must always be front and center in anything physical were involved in. If not, failure and serious injury will occur. We talk about the ability to train under extreme conditions and how there are so many factors most of us never take into account. Neither Clint nor I train in a controlled environment where things might be a little better suited to the lifter. We are always fighting the extremes to finish. We know everything we lift has a vibration which even though the weight or the stone might not talk it has a sense of you and the vibration your giving off. Sometime get stuck under a bar with a heavy weight or get knocked right on your arse pulling a big stone and tell me what your lifting that night doesn’t have a sense of who you are. Things will most likely keep heading the wrong direction because of what your giving off and the self talk that’s going on in your head . We talk about Eddie Hall and contrary to some public thought out there he is a complete strongman. You don’t come in third place in the 2016 Worlds Strongest Man without strength, ability and desire and he owns that. We also talk about past and present strongman and could they compete in today’s World Strongest Man? We talk about World Strongest Man Jouko Ahola and how he was the first man to really train strongman events specifically for competition. We talk about important lifting and training events which will change the history of your life forever. One example of this is the idea of imagining who has lifted this object before you over the years and now being part of that brotherhood. These events will always be a part of  you and you’ll now be a part an elite group of lifters! You’ve now demonstrated you have the ability to finish!
